Subjunctive verbs indicate a possibility or hypothetical situation.
Examples
- ἐὰν ἀγαπῶμεν ἀλλήλους ὁ Θεὸς ἐν ἡμῖν μένει
If we love one another, God remains in us - Ἐλπίζω δὲ ἐν Κυρίῳ Ἰησοῦ Τιμόθεον ταχέως πέμψαι ὑμῖν ἵνα κἀγὼ εὐψυχῶ γνοὺς τὰ περὶ ὑμῶν
And I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy unto you shortly, that I also may be encouraged, when I know the things concerning you.
