When a verb is in the passive voice, the subject of the verb receives the action.
Examples
- εἰ περισσοτέρως ὑμᾶς ἀγαπῶν ἧσσον ἀγαπῶμαι
Though the more abundantly I love you, the less I am loved. - τί γάρ ἐστιν εὐκοπώτερον εἰπεῖν Ἀφίενταί σου αἱ ἁμαρτίαι ἢ εἰπεῖν Ἔγειρε καὶ περιπάτει
For which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven;' or to say, 'Get up, and walk?'
