Words in Greek can be divided into different categories called parts of speech (POS). Words with the same part of speech will share similar grammatical properties.

Noun

A noun is a word used to identify people, places, things, actions, qualities, or ideas.

Verb

A verb is a word used to express an action, state, or occurence.

Adjective

An adjective is a word used to describe a noun.

Adverb

A word used to modify a verb or adjective, usually expressing time, place, circumnstance, manner, cause, degree, etc.

Conjunction

A word used to connect clauses or sentences together.

Number

A word used to describe how many of something there are.

Preposition

A word before a noun expressing a relationship between the noun and anouther word in the sentence.

Personal pronoun

A word associated with a grammatical person.

Possessive pronoun

A pronoun that indicates belonging to someone or something.

Indefinite pronoun

A pronoun that does not refer to a specific person or thing.

Reciprocal pronoun

Pronoun like 'each other' or 'one another'.

Demonstrative pronoun

A word like 'this' or 'that' used to indicate what is being referred to, or to distinguish something from another thing.

Reflexive pronoun

A word like 'itself' that refers to the same thing mentioned elsewhere it the same sentence.

Interrogative pronoun

A word like 'who' or 'how much' used to ask a question.

Relative pronoun

A pronoun that marks a relative clause.

Correlative pronoun

Pronoun like 'whatsoever' or 'as much as'.

Correlative or interrogative pronoun

Correlative pronoun that can also be used as an interrogative pronoun.

Definite article

Word like 'the' indicating that the noun is known to the reader.

Interjection

A word used to express an emotion or an exclamation.

Particle

Short function word.

Conditional particle

Word like 'if' used to indicate a condition.

Hebrew transliterated word

Word that was originally Hebrew transliterated to Greek.

Aramaic transliterated word

Word that was originally Aramaic transliterated to Greek.
