In Greek, there are different word endings depending on whether the word is singular (only one) or plural (more than one).

Plural

Plural indicates more than one thing.

Singular

Singular indicates one thing.

Dual

Dual indicates two things. In ancient Greek dual was a separate grammatical number, but in biblical Greek the only remnant of it is the numeral δύο (two).
