Feminine gender is typically used for females and also arbitarily for other non-animate nouns.

Examples

• καὶ τῇδε ἦν ἀδελφὴ καλουμένη Μαριάμ
  and she had a sister called Mary
• Ἡ ἀγάπη μου μετὰ πάντων ὑμῶν ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ
  My love be with you all in Christ Jesus.
